public folder synchronization

We have two Exchange 5.5 server. One of them is backup-server. We want that the backup server the public folders updates automatically. What I have to do?

They will do that automatically(Default, however it does take a little while)as long as you have the following:

- Directory synchronization services are running on both servers

- Both servers are in the same site or connected sites

- Also, check the interval they are synchronizing on the Directory replication section

Make sure that you add a replica to the backup server for all public folders.

In Exchange admin, go to folders- Public Folders - expand the tree.  You will see all your public folders listed there.  Highlight each one, and if there are subfolders, on the General tab, put a check in propagate down to all subfolders, go to the replicas tab and add a replica to the back up server.  Click apply, this brings up another box as to what should be propagated down to all subfolders, choose replica list ONLY.
