how can we add a combo box in in the msflexgrid or in a dbgrid. when retreving records it will also display the current values

      what i am trying to say is that how can we encorporate the combo box into the msflexgrid.. and example of this is using the delphi grids.. how can we do that in visual basic?

The MSFlexGrid can't do it.

You have 2 solutions:
-build your own (like the sample of my previous link is showing you with a textbox)
-buy a commercial component (like True DBGrid).
