ISA driver using WDM on W2K

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to get starting to write device driver notably on EISA bus on a W2K PC. I'm in low budget, maybe my question is where can I find an example free source code of a ISA driver using WDM on W2K. I think this would help me as a starting point.

Thanks in advance,

First, I'm assuming you have Visual C++, right?  If not, you'll need it.  I don't believe it's possible to create WDM drivers with ANY other compiler/linker.

Second, you have downloaded the Win2000 DDK, right?  If not, it's free from Microsoft at:

http://www.microsoft.com/ddk/W2kDDK.asp

It is not possible to develop W2K drivers without the DDK.  So download it now and install it.

Third, there are a great many samples in the DDK samples directory.  There are WDM drivers for ISA hardware.  My advice is to spend some time studying the example drivers.

Hopfully your budget is not so tight that you can't afford a good book.  The book from Walter Oney titled "Programming the Windows Driver Model" is indispensible!  It's published by Microsoft Press.
