Organiser Crashing System

I have just installed Win 2k having previously run Smartsuite 9.5 on NT4.
I remember an issue with Organiser on NT where it loaded full screen but when an attempt was made to resize it, it crashed the system. Safe start ((I think ?) resolved the problem.
Now the same is happeneing on Win 2k. I have now got 9.7 and the same issue arises. Doing a safe start permits a resizing but leaving Organiser in its resized window, shutting down and then doing a normal start, Win 2k crashes as soon as Organiser loads on screen.

I searched the internet to see if I could locate anything helpful, so I don't know if this link relates:

Hardware Acceleration was the problem.
I had encountered the same problem before with a completely different hardware configuration but just could not remember the solution.
As before, once acceleration was decreased the problem went away and having restored it to full, the problem has not arisen again.
