Problems with Squid and Windows

Hi, I have this problem:

I have a linux box (red hat 7.2) as a gateway. It has squid, iptables and named installed.

From another linux box I can browse the Internet using Konqueror. The performance is good and the connection is reliable.

From a third computer with windows 2000 and using Internet Explorer I can do some browsing but the performance is bad and eventually the connection is broken or lost. I tried from another windows 2000 computer but the result is the same.

While this is happening at the windows workstations, I go back to the linux workstation and do more browsing without problem.

Both Konqueror and IExplorer are configured to use proxy. Also both workstations are pointing the gateway linux box as their primary DNS and primary gateway.

Hi psadac:

I can't stop the DNS since other users need that. Maybe later at night.

Instead, I reconfigured the windows 2000 setting its primary DNS to my provider's. It didn't work. So I don't think that's the problem.

When I asked this question I expected somebody telling me how to configure squid or IExplorer to work together but your hint gave me another aproach. I just bypass Squid by reconfiguring IExplorer not to use Squid as a proxy.

This way it works.

So I'm gonna give you the points.

Thanks.
