HP deskjet 722 crashes in Word using book mode

I use the HP DeskJet 722 in 'book' mode frequently and never have a problem unless I am using MS Word (Office 2000 Professional). When I use that program, turning on 'book' mode causes Word to crash and then the System to crash.

I have visited MS seeking a solution but apparently never came up with the correct keywords.

I have visited HP but cannot find anything similar.

Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.

I had a similar problem with my HP 720 series printer. It only occurred when I went to the printer properties page to change settings prior to printing. The solution was to download or send for the driver upgrade. I chose to send for the disks which cost approximately $5 at the time. Again, it only occurred when changing properties to things like Book. Check out this support file for more info. Hope this helps.

Sorry, you might want this also if you decide to try the download. Check your driver version and if it is 10.1 then you need this for sure to fix the problem. If it is 10.3 then try one of the other alternate solutions. good luck.
