We seem to have alot of questions that are pending delete that the experts on the questions had no idea the question was even pending deletion. I tend to participate in any question I can help out with but as a gerenal rule I do not seek them out at a later date to see if they are simply inactive or pending deletion. I rely on the e-mail notifications to let me know if there is activity on the questions. The users can switch to pending deletion and we will never know it.

Hi Ray, we have custom tools for locating these, otherwise, we would not be able to find them.  This tool looks for Accepted, no points, and -1, then the pending deletes.  So that is part of what we are doing now...in I can get DanRolling from offering a deletion, have emailed, him.  And should help.
