I need a set of MIB tools - MIB (-compiler, -editor, -browser) (non commercial)

Which are the best MIB compilers, MIB editors, MIB browsers etc) (non commercial)

I need to implement several events in my system as SNMP traps. How do I know whether a standard MIB already supports it or not?

I also need an open source Java SNMP agent development toolkit. I've downloaded 'Westhawk' and OpenNMS, but are they the best?

Your help is much appreciated.

thanks,
Giora

Dont know about Java, but theres an excellent (free) C-based SNMP manager development kit at www.net-snmp.com
It's open source so you can build it for whatever platform you need, but alas the tools are all command-line not gui.
Its not for beginners but definitely a serious snmp package.  Their site will provide informative reading and links even if it doesnt suit.
