Rewriting on CD-ROMs

I am able to burn my CDs with no problem but I then am unable to add or erase the data material on them. I use NERO and ADAPTEC software. How do can I make the CDs rewritable again? When I look at the properties of the CD-ROM there is no facility to make it rewritable. Your help will be much appreciated.

Thank you.

You need to purchase CD-RW disks instead of CD-R disks and your drive must be a CD-RW drive.  If it is only a CD-R drive then even CD-RW disks will behave as CD-R.

Until you provide information such as the brand and model of your CD recorder and what brand and type of disks you are using, this is the best guess available.

I assume you either had the wrong kind of disks or a regular CD recorder instead of a re-writeable one?

In the interest of someone who might buy this question later to see the answer, could you just note the case?

Yes. I have the correct CD-ROM driver but I have been using CD-R disks which only allow one attempt of recording on them.
