I've recently installed Win2k as a internal domain controller in my office. Also installed is IIS and ISA 2000 server.

In the system Log I'm getting following errors when i'm shutting down my server, these entries are among the last one, after which the event log stopped event gets listed.

Servers static ip is : 192.168.10.1
I connect to internet thru an isdn dial-up connection to our isp, which alots a dynamic ip address something like : 61.0.114.212

-----------------------------
Event ID: 5775

DNS bad key.

DNS bad key.

Deregistration of the DNS record '_ldap._tcp.Default-First-Site-Name._sites.gc._msdcs.prologix.prologixsoft.com. 600 IN SRV 0 100 3268 prologixsoft.prologix.prologixsoft.com.' failed with the following error:

DNS bad key.
-----------------------

How can i remove these errors from occuring. I've checked my dns, it resolves properly. I laso ran microsoft's DCDiag utility, which reported no error, all tests passed successfully. NetDiag utility also reported no error, running "nslookup prologix.prologixsoft.com" returns servers ip address along with the dial-up's dynamic ip address, if connection is on.

I've to install Exchange 2000 server on this machine, will this error effect the installation in any way.

The reason for the errors is that when your ISDN connected DNS tryes to register it self dynamicly.
It not a big deal beside the fact that you should move the ISDN to another server. It should be another machine that performs ONLY dialing.
It much better,safer and secured.
If you are intending to install Exchange server or any kind of messaging software in your organization you should talk to your ISP in order to receive permanent IP.
If you won't get it you won't be able to receive any e-mails.This is the a MUST prerequsit.Do it BEFORE installation of Any messaging environment.

Thanks Ronin, for yr. comments, I'll be installing pop3 connector to pull mails from my webmail server, Do pop3 connectors also require static ip address ?

Yes you are right in suggesting a different machine for dial-up.

I don't have any pre-experience of installing exchnage, your comments will be helpful.

Thanks

In order to RECEIVE e-mail from outside your mail server must be known in the world e.g DNS registration this means STATIC IP.
However in order to send mail you don't need a static IP.

Yes, that's fine, Ronin, we do have a webserver as webmail.prologixsoft.com, we have our accounts on this server only, which we will configure in exchange.

Thanks,

You get the points...

Thanks, Ronin for yr. comments, Just one more querry;
for which i'm increasing points also.

How can i let local users send their mails to external addresses using outlook express, i have a firewall (isa 2000) installed. Will exchange do the routing, how can this be done without exchange. somebody had suggested me to disable SMTP inspection, how can I do this.

SMTP filter is enabled with no rules set under Applications Filter in ISA, A Filter to Allow Outbound traffic under IP Packet filter is also created.

It can be done.
It's important THOURGH which server your users are sending.
Where is the server located in your office? ISP?
Basicly OE have a feature in the Internet Mail which allows the user to "log-in" to the SMTP server and send an email even the user is not located on the same network or comming from another part of the world.

Its like this; the isp who is providing us the isdn services, does not have the mail routing, they disabled it some time back, most of the isp's/mail servers have closed this worls over; so we cannot send mails thru them without having the account (usrname@server.in) in reply address.

The second isp has our webmail server hosted, this server has the routing feature enabled, which we are using, so this server is at the isp's end.

OE feature: I don't want this config, that way users can get directly connected, and can send mails outside without any restriction, we have a lot of confidential matters, we want restricted access to web servers. If i let exchange handle this, i think i'll be free with lots of worries, what do you say.
