Mail "disappears" after opening

All my users have Outlook as a mail client for Sendmail.  One user, with Outlook 98 has an unusual problem.  As soon as she opens a mail message, it is deleted from the Inbox.  Once she closes that message, it is GONE.....not in the deleted items folder or anywhere else.  I have checked every parameter, option, setup, Inbox Repait Tool...etc and the problem remains.  If we send her a test message and delete BEFORE opening, it does go to the Deleted Items folder.  What can I look for that is causing her e:mail to vanish after closing???

Open her inbox and click VIEW->CURRENT VIEW->MESSAGES, it is probably set to UNREAD MESSAGES currently.
