Win XP and Internet Shearing

I have 2 computers...one with XP and the other with Windows ME, they are connected via LAN. The ME is configured to ask an internet connection to the XP. It seems to be that the LAN configuration manager has the "invisible non changeable" option of connect ON REQUEST.
This is, when the Me requests a connection to internet, via Lan, the XP automatically connects...I dont't want this. I want to configure XP NOT to connect on request.

Is this possible???

Thanks
