Mailobj / mailobj1 ?

We use shared mail and in recent research I have read that it is wise to replace the shared mail database regularily.

On our server I could see two shared mail db's, mailobj.nsf and mailobj1.nsf, each database was 3gb <I know..yikes>.

So time to clean up.  First of all I did an object collect on the shared mail db.  Then after restarting the server 'tell router use mailobjjuly.nsf'.

All is well with that.  Now when I look the mailobj db is 39 gb, the mailobj1 is still 3gb.

So here I go with my question.....what is the difference, if any, between the mailobj and mailobj1 databases?  Any ideas?  I can find no documentation or previous questions on this one....

thanks in advance
