Browser Status Bar keeps blinking on Refresh Page

Hi,

I added a refresh tag to my web page:

<META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="9">

It work fine.  But I find the blinking blue bar on the bottom of the browser (Status bar) very annoying.

Any other way to refresh a frame page without the Status bar being updated?  Java applet, JavaScript?

Thanks,

Alex.

why is the status bar blinking?

can you show a live example of this happening?

are you just talking about the page loading bar each time the page is refreshed?

you could perhaps get around that using a frameset, but I wouldn't recommend it at all...

Yes, I am talking about the page loading bar (at the bottom of the browser).
My page is a frame with many pages.  I am reloading one of them every two seconds.  I do not want the page loading barr constatntly blink.

Thanks.

build yourself a new browser...

you are trying to take away a feature of the browser to keep the users informed as to the status of the page.

personal note:  every 2 seconds is really a lot to reload a page....if your server slows down, the page might not load at all...

Why the C?

Don't like the fact that you can't do anything about it and decided to take it out on me?

Or just felt like being an ass?

I will have a moderator change this grade to an A regardless of whether you respond here or not, so if you feel like responding to try to maintain your dignity feel free.

Bruno, what is this comment for?  Is it misdirrected?

akoifman,

because you accepted my comment with a "C" grade....I feel this shows disrespect for me as an expert.  Because you didn't like the lack of options, you gave me a C.

Hi, I did not give you a C.  I gave you "Average".  If this means a C I'll change it to B.  For Excellent I expected you to suggest something in Java or JavaScript (?).

Let me know how I can fix the C - I did not mean it.

Thanks,

Alex.

Alex,

Understand the confusion, the grading system is currently being looked at.  It is causing too much grief like this.  :-)

The grade has been changed, if you would like your points refunded however as there really is no solution here, that would be fine as well, I can have a moderator take care of that.
