IMAP, Outlook XP and Entourage
I have Outlook XP on Windows XP setup to connect to my IMAP server and view e-mail. This works fine.
However, I setup MS Entourage on Mac OS X to connect to the same IMAP server, and it works BETTER. Here's why:
When I first connected with XP, the only folder shown was Inbox. When I connected with OSX, it created the following folders:
Deleted Items
Drafts
Sent Items
And it has a "preferences" panel that allows you to use these folders as you'd expect. With Outlook XP, when I delete or move a message from my Inbox, it simply puts a line through it. Is there anyway to make XP emulate the behavior of Entourage?
Thanks,
Matt

I have my Compuserve account attached to my Outlook here @ work and i understand your pain.
When I archive, the deleted go away (i'm sure thats covered in one of the many links above)
Additionally, I customized my toolbar and added the "Purge Deleted Messages" button to the toolbar. ONce done reading & deleting, I just have two more clicks to go!
Once to purge, & once to confirm.
Unfortunately, I have not been able to get rid of the struckout messages any other way than the above
Hope this helps
