Stargazer1,

I just finished looking through the D-Link site and read the manual for your device and I did not see an answer for your issue.  HOWEVER, what has worked for me in the past was to Flash the Firmware of the unit with the newest or same version.  Additionally, have your tried resetting your device back to Factory Default settings?  Or do you have to be logged in to do this too?  Hope this helps.

Krantz,
Yes, you do need to be logged in the unit in order to reset back to Factory Default settings.   I will try your advise and flash the Firmware.

Thanks, Stargazer1

I have a d-link d704, and to reset the password, I have to reset the router (with the reset switch)

if you loose your password you need to call customer support for your Switch or Router. They will flash your firmware to default settings. I know, I had this happen & what a pain.
