font index erro

I have downloaded games called "elf bowling" and "frog pult". They have worked before on my old computer but now when I click on the shortcut I get an error message...
""Official appication error, Font index out of range"
How do I fix this???

I guess what I really want to know is the meaning of the error message and how to fix it. I have tried the windows compatibility things and no luck. I a couple other games from Nstorm that do work fine.

What OS was this comuter using. I supsect it wasn't XP. One thing to keep in mind XP is a much different type of OS then Win9x/ME and there some programs that just wont work on XP. However XP has something called Compatiblity Mode and this might help with your problem.

Also the error looks like it is coming from the application level and not being generated by the OS. In other words the applications code was written with a certain set of circumstances in mind. Those circumstances may not exist in XP hence the reason for the error.
