I assume you want it to show up in Google, Yahoo, etc.?

There are both free and "for pay" services that will do this for you but the most important thing is to design your site so it easy to find.  http://www.sofer.com/research/searchmain.html and http://northernwebs.com/set/ have a good description of what you should do.

If you want to find companies that will do the submitting for you, just search on "search engine submission" at Yahoo, Google or the other search engines.

Go to each search engine yourself, and find the "add a link" page....much more reliable than having a company do it for you.

This question has been abandoned. I will make a recommendation to the
moderators on its resolution in a week or two. I appreciate any comments
that would help me to make a recommendation.
<note>
   In the absence of responses, I may recommend DELETE unless it is clear
   to me that it has value as a PAQ.  Silence = you don't care
