This is a question in reguards to article:

HOWTO: Catch Microsoft Excel Application Events Using VC++ (Q186427)

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q186427

This article explains exactly what I want to do with my program except I just dont understand one section of it: In the intialziation section a GUID called IID_IExcel8AppEvents is declared at it looks like this:

// Declare the events you want to catch.

      // {00024413-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
      static const GUID IID_IExcel8AppEvents =
      {0x00024413,0x000,0x0000,{0xc0,0x00,0x0,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x46 } };

Where are they getting this GUID from?  Can I get this from the OLE/COM object viewer?  If so, where?

Thanks in Advance

I believe you can find it in the OLE/COM object viewer under the OLE 1.0 folder.

You can find it in OLE/COM object viewer:
Expand the "Interfaces" folder and look for "AppEvents" interface.
