Failed to download slackware-8.1-iso

Hi!
I cannot download slackware-8.1-iso from ftp.slackware.com nor from mirror ftp.lip6.fr.
I can login into site normally and i have done
ftp>bin
but when i
ftp>get slackware-8.1-iso
i get
iso-not aplain file (in Linux)
not a regular file (in DOS).
 
Please help!

That's because you are trying to FTP the directory containing the Slackware files, which insn't a regual file.
If you 'cd slackware-8.1-iso' you'll see:

CHECKSUMS                              README.TXT
CHECKSUMS.md5                          slackware-8.1-install.iso

Then "get slackware-8.1-install.iso" and things will go much better.

P.S. Is it possible to download 689 Mb without mistakes?

Yes, if you have a reliable Internet connection. And there are FTP clients than can resume a failed download. I use ncftp on Linux and it can resume an interrupted download. Othe clients exist for windows and Linux.

Aha. I have find Turboftp client for Windows.
It is downloading now with Turboftp on Windows machine.
