Is there a way to close the address bar on internet explore by use of the registry???

try the following:

in the registry, go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/INTERNET EXPLORER/MAIN

Select the SHOW_URLTOOLBAR and Modify its string value to NO.
