The password that will not go away

Hello! I am running Outlook Express on WinXP. My email address is on my brother's website, so his name and password are on the Dial-up screen. I set up my account the best I could using directions in Outlook(but I'm a beginner at this). For some weird reason, my name and password goes through, after dial-up, but my brother's-the sign-on account-, has this weird password show up EVERY time, instead of the right one. I've gone into every page in accounts and options, changed it dozens of times, clicked save the password, gone straight back to the dial-up screen: and there it sits again. Only when I enter it manually every time I go online will it run the correct password. And it's not just Outlook Express; if I start Explorer, there it is too. I did try Microsoft's knowledge base, but at my level, the answers might as well be in Swahili for all the good it does me. Can anyone give me an easy way to get rid of this password once and for all? Thank you!

Are you seeing a bunch of dots on the screen in place of the password?  If so, that's normal.  Nothing wrong with that.

Since you know the account and password, simply delete the account (your brother's) and recreate it correctly.
