I have 17 inches Wipro K7 monitor.Sometimes the screen area or desktop becomes small in horizontal direction and shrinks inside in horizontal direction automatically. All the controls except horizontal controls of monitor work at that time. The problem gets solved itself sometimes immediately or after restarting pc or sometimes takes days to solve automatically.I am using Win98(SE),P-III 700 MHz processor,64MB Ram,15 GB HDD

Hi,

Sounds like the monotor may be failing.
If you have another monitor to try this would troubleshoot the issue. If now problems with the test monitor than its
a hardware issue. They tend to get worse with time. Repair
is an option but it is becoming less feasable as labour and
parts go up as the cost of New Monitors come down.

Try dropping the refresh rate down on the card.
This may temporarily stay of the inevitable failure.

Start shopping for a new monitor. Think of it as a forced upgrade :>

Good luck,

tandy
