Hi,

Your ASP page can return anything you need it to.
I use this method often to communicate between a VB front-end and ASP.
for example, your VB program POSTs data to you ASP page. The ASP page validates that data received and returnes SUCCESS or FAIL with an error code, or a list of clients or an XML document etc.

Simply create the response you need using Response.Write in the ASP and VB will receive that after POSTing the data to the form.

HTH,
Alon

I figured this out last night.  I'm doing this the way that you suggested.  I still feel you deserve the points as your answer was actually how I decided to go about it.
Thanks so much!

Alice
I increased the points to 200 - the same as for the original I posted.
