QuickBooks Delivery Agent

I am looking for some information on the QBDAgent ...

A customer uses QB in his office and he called me and told me that after 'some work' he gets an error message "QBDAgent has caused an error in MRTPROC.DLL. QBDAGent will cose now." I noticed that the "QB Delivery Agent" was in the startup group. After removing it from the startup it was started when we brought up QB itself, the error still occured. After some poking I found that his Internet setup was set to a permanent connection, I changed that to use his Dialup Account and now the error is gone. "Delivery Agent" and Internet makes sense, but maybe somebody can shed some more light on it (no guessing please, I guessed enough myself)

Thanks

QBDAGENT automatically "calls home" to check for updates and does automatic registration.  Gathered from http://www.interesting-people.org/archives/interesting-people/200010/msg00002.html

Thanks slink9. Great, that's already something ... but that can't be all a "Delivery Agent" is doing ...

It's not a guess, and it is the purpose of the delivery agent.  Maybe someone else can give you more info.

I didn't say it was a guess ... but I'd like to keep it open for a while.

Thanks!

I didn't find out more about the QBDagent, but fixing my clients Internet access I fixed his QB problems also ...
