Can't install Windows 2000

I have an ASUS A7V133 motherboard. When I connect my hard drive to the ATA100 connector I can't install Windows 2000. I install the promise ATA100 driver I found through a newsgroup but my drive still comes up undetected. Can anyone help me?

Dana,
Try going to this site...
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/asus/misc/ide and get the ATA100.zip for the promise chip. There are two directories for the chip. I had the same problem and after calling tech support they told me to get the ATA100 driver from their ftp site. Check the model number on your chip to see what file to use.

The number on my chip is 20265. I will check out the site and see if they have a file for my chip.

There is a folder pdc20265. I am going to try the file and see if it allows my hard drive to be detected.
