I have a problem. When I attempt to open a DTS package from the client machine I get the following error returned

Title: DTS Designer Error

Message : ||||||||

The DTS package runs OK but I cannot create new ones as my task icons are missing.

The error occurs on the Server machine as well, except it returns a message of ????????

Any ideas ?

Environment

CLIENT

If you right click on the package and select versions - can you open one of the earlier versions ok?

I suspect some required file used in the designer (probably related to icons) is either missing or corrupt - can you re-install SQL Server in an attempt to get it back?

Thanks for your advice but I managed to resolve it through anothe website. The comcat.dll was a different version than it should have been due to a VB6 configuration issue.

Its' sorted now.
