Hi!
after the desktop has loaded almost completly I get this error ... and it goes on and on
is it possible to restore the system anyhow?
starting the last working config doesn't work
repairing with 2000cd didn't either

Check http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q130802& ("General Information on STOP 0x0000000A") - this would be a 1st step in narrowing down the problem...
In most cases I remember the problem was the memory - try to change it.

Trepper,
Can you boot into safe mode? If you can its more than likely a display driver problem or maybe another driver that loads. If you can get into safe mode change the video display settings to use a standard vga driver.

Is your system overclocked? If so try toning down the settings; sometimes overclocking too much can cause repeated errors at bootup.
When did this problem start happening? Did it start immediately after you finished installing Windows 2000, or did it start after installing some other program?
