Unable to create web project in VI

My problem is that I'm unable to create a project in VI. I know that this is a common problem.  When I create a new web project and enter localhost for my server name, the error I get is "Server error: There is no web named"".(Error code=80004005)".  I also tried to point to a file under Inetpub/wwwRoot and browse to it using something like http://localhost/myfile.asp, but it does not find it.  One thing that is different in my situation is that I also have .NET installed, and I don't have a problem with creating a web project in .NET.  Do I need to reinstall Visual Interdev?.  Please let me know if anyone has ran across this problem.  If more info is needed from me, please let me know

Do you have the FrontPage Server extensions installed.

Prior to SP 5 if the server was non-contactable the error "Unable to contact web server". After SP 4/5 the error is Error code = 80004005.
