I just found out that Windows XP will not support USB 2.0
(http://zdnet.com.com/2100-1106-800269.html).

I will be getting a new scanner soon and was going to wait for USB 2.0 scanners but now I find out that XP won't support it.

My questions are thus:

1) Are there/will there be scanners that utilize firewire?

2) If I do put a USB 2.0 adapter in my XP box to use with a USB 2.0 scanner, will I get any benefit?

The main thing I am looking for in waiting for a USB 2.0 scanner is an increase in speed, though of course image quality is still the most important factor.

Thanks,

tcoc
