I need to be able to send an email containing the new record, everytime a new record is placed into the db.
I am trying to do this in a trigger
CREATE TRIGGER [ed1] ON [emailtestbyed]
Declare @name varchar(20),
@id int
SELECT @id=id, @name=name from inserted
where name = 'Ed'
if isnumeric(@id) = 1

EXEC ('master..xp_sendmail
@recipients = ' + '"' + 'edwardc' + '" ,
@query= ' + '"' +  'select * from co_dev..emailtestbyed where name= ' + '''' + @name + '''",
@message = ' + '"' + 'expedite shipping' + '",
@separator = ' + '"' + 'expedite shipping' + '" ,
@no_header = ' + '"' + 'true'  + '",
@subject = ' + '"' + 'expedite' + '"')

my test table has 2 fields

id    int
name  varchar

The trigger I have so far send an email everytime a record is added to the db...

the problem is that it sends every record where name = 'ed'

Again,  the final outcome has to be an email with the current reords information sent via email.
