IBM Netfinity 5000 Hot Swap Back Plane upgrade options?

I see that a Ultra160 PCI SCSI card can be purchased for the IBM Netfinity 5000 system, however with the Ultra Wide SCSI hot swap back plane that comes with the system, drive performance will be limited. Is there a Ultra160 rated hot swap back plane upgrade option for this system or is there somewhere that someone can point me to receive information on this?

As far as your question goes, while IBM may make such a backplane, an educated guess is that it will cost 2-3 times more than a simple external drive rack with the requisite backblane from a third party.  Any decent SCSI160 adapter will have an external connector for using such a drive rack.  Have you considered this or do you really need to use the internal bays for space reasons?

Don't forget that you'd probably need to get new bays as well as new drives.  That alone makes an external enclosure from a third party a MUCH more affordable option because IBM will charge a fortune for these parts.
