Whiteboard ?

I am looking for a whiteboard applet that has the same (or close to the same) features as the ones on this site. http://www.groupboard.com/demo/ I don't really need the messageboard part of it but the chat part would be nice.

The things it has to have are

1. The ability to save the drawings
2. Has a good amount of drawing tools
3. Free.

If it is really good then I will give bonus points *upto 100* to whoever provides me with the info.

Thanks,
Eclipse

Does it have to be an applet? If not, Check this out. It doesn't have chat but you said that wasn't required so see if this helps.

Here is one that can be used as an applet.

Thanks but neither of those will work. The first one for obvious reasons and the second one will not work because

"the Applet will not work in any currently available browser since there is no support for JFC classes"

and

"Applets don't allow direct access to files and other system properties. So do not try to open or save any files"

both quoted from the rutgers page.

As far as the saving of the flles goes it not the most important thing and I guess the groupboard site is not actually saving the files but rather the session and so that is how it is able to load up the drawings later so I guess that will have to be the way they all work but still as you can see it will not run in a web browser so it will not suit my needs.

Also note I do not have root access to the server the applet will be running on.

I will bump the questing up another 100 points anyway so now it's worth 200pts.
ok, I've looked up and down the internet and I'm not sure you are going to find anything like that for free. I found a few demo software that would probably do what you wanted, but passed them up since you said you wanted free. I'll keep looking, but I'm not sure anything (for free) exists like that. If I don't find anything, good luck!

thx for looking and if nobody replies I will still give you some points for trying. I know the question is a hard one and I have searched myself for days to no avail but that is why I came to the experts I thought they might know.

Actually, I'm wrong. It did save my drawing (the session) although I don't know how. ;-)

thanks for your hard work it does not really have what I am looking for "not enough drawing tools" but if nobody else replies I will awared you with the points anyway.
ok. I've went through 2 search engines (Google, Dogpile)(until I started getting to a lot of garbage) and couldn't find anything. Sorry I can't be of more help, but I really don't know of any other places to look. Hope someone can help you find what you are looking for. Good luck in your search!

It does not appear anyone else is going to comment on this so I will go ahead and award you the points and thx for looking again.
Sorry I could not find what you are looking for. If I ever stumble over anything I'll post it to this question for you. Good luck in your search!

Thanks for the points. I was going to say also that that last whiteboard I showed you seemed pretty good.  I'm not sure how good you are with Java, but you might be able to scrap some code from something else and tweak a little and make it work in that program. And give you some more drawing tools. It did have source code you could download. Just a thought,
