if u r getting bad sectors in ur hard drive then there r following  ways for ur sol

1 if ur harddisk is under guarrantee then it better to change ur drive

2  otherwise u use the nortron utilities software , which wil mark off ur bad sector it is very much better then scan disk  because scandisk only tell how much bad sector in ur harddisk . but not remove it, so its better to use the nortron utilities

What is ur? Ohhh..maybe ur "Y" and "O" keys aren't working...

Scandisk and Norton Disk Doctor will both map out and mark bad clusters as unusable.  Sometimes using a manufacturer's utility can recover these for use, but this will also require completely erasing the entire drive.  IBM's Drive Fitness Test at http://www.storage.ibm.com/hdd/support/download.htm has functions to do this (called Erase Disk in the DFT utility) and I believe it works with non-IBM disks also.  Maxtor and WesternDigital also have these sorts of utilities (I have heard that the MaxLLF program from www.maxtor.com can do this also on any drive).

THIS WILL ERASE ALL YOUR DATA SO MAKE A BACKUP FIRST!!!
