Item_Open(Read) event not called in Sender's inbox

I created a customized appointment form and performed some operations in Item_Open/Read Subs.

After I sent it out, if the receiver is on a different machine (even is with the same user account), when the new message is opened, Item_Read is called. Or if it's opened inside the Calendar folder, Item_Open is called as well.

However, when I do the same thing on the same(the sender's own) machine, i.e., open it in the sender's inbox/Canlendar folder, Item_Open/Read isn't called.

This is important for me since I need to have the form repopulated when it's reopened.

Can anyone explain?
