The destination file is in-use. Please ensure that all other applications are closed

I am installing a VB 6 Package on a Windows 2000 workstation and during installation the message above appears together with
C:\winntSystem32\msvcrt.dll
Somehow this file is in use although is does not yet exist and no other application is running on this particular PC.

any ideas?

Have you installed the latest service pack (which is 5) for VB before building your package?
Just ignore the message and continue with installation.  This will not affect in application performance.
Though I would like to know how to avoid this, since we are getting the same message

there are tools out there that will show you what programs have handles into which dll's etc.... very useful.
I keep one on my USB key when I am doing installs.
