This one gets tricky. I followed the directions to get the database on the Internet and everything worked fine. The problem was that since the IP was not static, I was unable to use the database. I have since purchased a static IP. Going through the same steps on the same system, I can no longer view the database.
Some interesting data here. First I set the database up on my win2k system with a rounter. Opened the http port everything worked fine. (still dynamic IP)
The set the system up on a Windows ME system. No router everything worked fine. (dynamic IP). So on both setups I never really truly accessed from a different PC. Simply viewed the "Internet Shell" of the database using Internet Explorer).
Added static IP, new modem/router. Opened up the http port, now I am unable to get to the site. Any suggestions to what the problem might be. Is it system related (meaning If I am going to be the server do I need to install Windows 2000 and do something on the networking end)?
