troubleshooting Question

O/S-Error: (OS 33) The process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file.

History
     oracle 8i installed in NT Server
     CPMS is the SID name
     our Database Reside on this Server.
     one of our VB application is using this database.

Problem summary
     What  happening is " Most of the day  the Oracle Service is Getting
Stopped
Automatically in the night . someone has to start the service  in the
morning."

Once started its running continously with out any Problem  till the days
work is over.

Next day morning same problem ( oracle instance stopped) occurs and we need
to restart it again.
The NT Server is continously running "

Can you pls look into the below err message and give me the details and
tips to
solve this , sorry to disturb you in this regard

OSD-04008: WriteFile() failure, unable to write to file
