i think we might have a virus outbreak in our office

we have a mail server in here which runs nt server and exchange 5.5

alerts are sent to my client machine and recently ive been getting (up to 100s of) alerts every day

they come from the server (network associates groupshield antivirus report) and the subject is
ALERT -  GroupShield ticket number blah was generated

i try to find 'groupshield' on the mail server but i cant find a program

does this mean that virus's are being stopped?
what would be the program i need to view on the mail server to check for viruses?
how would i update the program to catch new viruses?

thanks
