SetWarnings won't turn to True

I cannot get the SetWarnings command to be or stay true. I've tried setting it in a Macro and through VBA. I've used the docmd in VBA and it doesn't work. I've tried writing a macro that sets the warnings on. Neither work. It is not machine specific - it is user specific. Is this some registry setting? Corrupt installation? Help! Thanks in advance for assistance!
