Hello. I need to use this function insteda of gethostbyaddr(), that was obsoled since WinXP, to get machine name from it's IPv4. For example, if i have
int nIP=inet_addr(""), i want to end up with string "".

I'm trying to use this function this way:

//-------------------code example ----------------------

sockaddr_in tAddr;
memset(&tAddr, 0, sizeof(sockaddr_in));
// - known IP of, for test

char szHostName[1025];
int nErr=getnameinfo(&tAddr, sizeof(sockaddr_in), szHostName, 1025, 0, 0, 0);

Unfortunately, this return 11004 in nErr and "" in szHostName instead
of "". What i'm doing wrong?
