I am not certain if this helps at all but you may want to look at:

308281 - HOW TO: Create an Out-Of-Office Rule with Extended MAPI

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308281
Sure, I assume your an administrator... Log on with your users ID and run Outlook and create the rule.

if i create the email account on the server, then the mails will be downloaded. i do not want download any mails onto the server. is there any way to get around this? if i'm using outlook express, will it be the same as outlook?

thanks

If you set up outlook with exchange, unless you use a PST file (Personal File Folder) nothing is getting downloaded...  You can have as many different Outlook's opened on as many machines as you want and still see the mail.

Just set up a profile for this person, do the rule and close it.

Outlook Express NO NO NO Microsoft Outlook....

This isn't Pop3 mail, its Exchange Mail
