Hi,
we have Exchange 5.5 and is all working fine.
(Windows 2000 server sp3)
Now we have to import some contacts and messages from an old pub.edb (a backup copy of an previous installation).
We are thinking to export it in a .pst file and open it as a folder.
We don't know how to do it (and if it is the best option).
Any idea?

Thanks
Samassrl

Exporting to a pst would really be your only option. What you need to do is restore your backup to an offline server, connect to a mailbox with Oulook and run the Import and Export wizard from the File menu. Choose the folders you want and export them to pst. Now connect to your production server with Outlook and run the Import and Export wizard to import the contents of your pst file into your production server.

You'll need another server running the same version and SP level as the one that had been hosting the old pub.edb (you sure pub is the one you want? The information you seek is normally kept in priv.edb). You'll have to do a disaster recovery to this other server to access the info. At that point you can use Outlook to access the info and export it to a PST.
