using IIS 5 through Apache?

need to install perl, php, jsp ,asp and asp.net

ive got perl php and jsp working on apache

i understand i can set up a IIS and run eith apache or IIS on a different port

BUT can i run IIS through APache ???

you can run them both on different ports. to alter apache see the config files. to alter iis see properties in iis admin

If you mean using Apache and integrating the IIS's content into your Apache's websites, then it's possible.

You need the mod_rewrite module to change URLs and some additional modules like the mod_proxy module to hide these changes to the user's webbrowser.

Example:

...
RewriteEngine On
RewriteLogLevel 2
RewriteLog /var/log/httpd/rewrite.log
RewriteRule /webcam/snapshot.jpg http://192.168.0.102/cgi-bin/sgi-camera/snap   [P]
...

This allows access to the right URL using the left URL.
The option P enables the proxy, so nobody sees the modified URLs.
