New Firewall Appliance Comparison

We are currently using 2 Netopia S9500 firewalls and have had problems with both VPNs and network latency. We are planning an upgrade of our network and have narrowed the choice of new firewalls to these contenders (in no particular order):

-Watchguard Firebox 700
-NetScreen 25
-SonicWall Pro 200
-Cisco PIX 506E or 515E
-CyberGuard LX or FS

There are feature trade-offs between them but any one of them would fulfill our needs. Obviously, cost is a prime consideration, but we are also looking for something that isn't too complex to set up or maintain.

Can anyone offer any compelling arguments either for or against any one of these products? This is a tough decision!

I have a lot of experience with PIX. 515E is a rock solid performer and is easy to setup and maintain, and does EVERYTHING - VPN, firewall, IDS, et and Cisco has world-class support behind it. The 506 may be a bit underpowered for you.

Hello,

We install and manage Watchguard, SonicWall and Netscreen firewalls for our clients.

Netscreen is by far the easiest one with a clean web inerface and a powerfull comand line and does EVERYTHING - VPN, firewall, IDS.
