What else do you have on the page? I get prompted to download an ActiveX control (which I NEVER do). I doubt this is a Fireworks problem -- probably other stuff on the page that's screwing it up.

webwomen its in Flash6, u get prompted to download if you havnt got it installed on your PC

Then it has NOTHING to do with Fireworks. They're not the same thing at all.

Hi George,

Basically.. the reason why it is not centering is because your draw your flash file outside of the box..

Basically.. the width of it.. shoudl not exceed 600..

but yours is about 1100 px.. that explains it..

Try again..

This time draw only inside the white area

And also at the same time.. make sure you export in the correct width. 600 oy 700 woudl be just right..

If this is a business website.. i personally suggest getting a designer to do it :-)

Thanks

Thanks for your reply... I did the 600 width thing but it was too big...so only by doing it larger way could I fit it on a page.

Unfortunatly its a community resource not business...no no budget for Designer!!!

cheers

But I really don't understand why you need to do large to fit a page?

If 600px is too big.. then what about 1100px??

haha.. contradicting?

Thanks

I mean 600 was huge letters...by using 1100 it went down to menu bar height

U may have guessed this was my first attemp at a menu...lol

Hmm..

I see..

You can't enlarge the width to minimize the size dude..

This will not work..

If you think that the size is too huge..

Change the font size.. I believe you know how.. right?

Thanks
Aaron
lol

Commented:
Also dude..

Your problem is flash problem.. ain't fireworks problem :-)

Thanks
Aaron

lol yeah I think webwomen pointed that out...in her own special way

webwoman and aarontwc..if Fireworks is the software producing the problem .swf file..then it is a Fireworks problem. Flash output is part of Fireworks..n'est pas?

Z

Commented:
The problem is..

You don't generate flash in fireworks.. right? :-)

I did not know you can produce flash from PNG files..

Can you actually do that?

Wow.. this is new..

I used fireworks since it's early 3.0 days.. never heard of this function.. haha..

But whatever it is.. this is not fireworks issue.. if you say it is swf files that is giving problem.. then ain't that flash problem :))

Thanks
Aaron

>>Can you actually do that?<<
yes..
from Fireworks 4 help..

To export as a Flash SWF file:

1  Choose File > Export.
2  From the Save as type pop-up menu, choose Flash SWF.
3  Click Options to set SWF options. The Options dialog box provides suggestions on picking settings.
4  Click OK to close the dialog box and then click Save.

>>if you say it is swf files that is giving problem<<

no I said.."if Fireworks is the software producing the problem .swf file"..big difference..

So how did you make your menu Geo123? Export from Fireworks or for interface with Fireworks from Flash?
or just in Flash with export to .swf for embedding in HTML page..and then ask question in Fireworks to annoy webwoman and aarontwc..(yea right!) :)
