Toshiba 6000 - built in Wi-Fi

System detects Wi-Fi card but I can't find the correct place to enter SSID and Encryption Key.  I have configured many cards in Windows, but linux uses different abbreviations.  Toshiba also does not offer program for the wireless NIC, but I think I can get this to work in Linux using the default driver that Mandrake provides.

I have beeen to the Network configuration in the Mandrake Control Center, but find it a bit confusing.

the file your looking for to set the SSID and encryption is the wireless.opts, it should be in /etc/pcmcia/

below is a great site for laptop users wanting to run linux just look for your make and model and chances are someone else has done it already, although depending on which flavor of linux(RedHat, Mandrake, Slackware, Gentoo) there may be a few differences... have fun, it's deffinatly a learning experience
