I know much about sendmail but now I'm facing very diffrent problem with sendmail. Here are the little info about my problem.
I have Redhat 7.2 linux high end compaq(data centre Prolient 3000)box running Sendmail 8.11.6/8.11.6. Application running on same box :
 Sendmail SMTP for 5 servers.
I have a application which is using my sendmail for outgoing SMTP and Application working based on Startdard SMTP RFC. So my problem is application not able to send message to sendmail at 1st attempt -- it will taking 2 to 10 attempt to send messages. My application have logging facility which showing no response from SMTP server -- at the same time sendmail showing following error on syslog:
gAHKeHu22137: SYSERR: putoutmsg (2.myapps.com): error on output channel sending "220 mysmtp.com ESMTP Sendmail 8.11.6/8.11.6; Sun, 17 Nov 2002 20:40:17 GMT": Connection reset by 2.myapps.com
Nov 17 20:40:17 mysmtp sendmail: NOQUEUE: root@localhost did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MTA
Nov 17 20:40:22 mysmtp sendmail: NOQUEUE: 2.mysmtp.com [192.168.1.55] did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MTA
Any body can help me or suggest me some fine tunning tips of sendmail
