Dear experts,

the question is simple:

How to open a LOCAL MS-Access database with password, using a VB-Program ?

I alread tried :

1 - Use the property Report.Database.LogOnServer(dllName, ServerName, DatabaseName, userID,Password ), but I didn´t get success. The MS-Access database that I using is LOCAL and this property never find dllName ( In case,I don´t know the correct name to use, nether the others names )

2 - I tried to use the program sugested by mlmcc (
http://support.crystaldecisions.com/communityCS/FilesAndUpdates/scr_vb_api_security.exe.asp ).

Although too complicated / complex, it works well with reports without subreports. I didn´t get anyway to open a report with subreport ( both accessing a local MS-Access with password ) using this sugested program.

I´m a little desperate because a must run this program this week.

There is something easy to solve this ? I really have to use de second option ?

Thank very much

You have to pass the logon informationto the subreports.  How are you calling the report?

Through the RDC you can access the subreports

Dim SubRpt as CRAXDRT.Report

Set SubRpt = Report.SUBREPORTNAME.OpenSubReport

You can now treat the subreport as if it were a report and set the properties.

Have you created the reportusng ODBC connection or directly using .mdb file ?

All right mlmcc.I´ll try and send to youtthe news.

rituarora, I´m not using ODBC. The MS-Access database is local and the program open directy the .mdb file.
