greetings.!

will any XP-PRO fuLL suffice for 'the cd' sometimes needed when installing upgraded USB ports for example? actually, a combo PCI card that has 3 USB ports and 2 of the newer firewire ports. (i guess they are a newer updated version, cause the size is not the same.) on the directions, it said i may be asked for the original system disk in the process of installing the BUS/FIREWIRE ports PCI card. i do not have the 'original', but i have full retail version of xp pro (for another purpose). will that work as the original system disk?

thank you for your time.

Yes, any copy of XP Pro should work just fine for that kind of purpose.

However, most XP installs copy those files to your Hard Drive, so I don't think you'll need them.
2000 also copies those files, but Windows 98 and Windows ME do not by default copy those files, thus the warning about needing your system disk.
